Oh, What A World!

.

I really, really, really love Rufus Wainwright. I love his singing. He is the awesomest singer in the whole entire world. I went to his concert last night.

He sang some of my favorite songs like Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk,

California and Little Sister,

Grey Gardens and something from his opera.

I didn't know he played the guitar. I fell asleep when he played The Art Teacher.

And his little sister, Lucy sang some songs too. I liked her singing.

This is after the show. I loved when he put his arm around me and my mom took my picture with him.

Happy Birthday Mr. President

.

It's President Lincoln's 200th birthday tomorrow and I'm bringing cupcakes to my class and my mom is going to read stories about him. Abraham Lincoln is my favorite president.

Star Spangled Banner

I sang the national anthem for the Trenton Devil's hockey team with my school chorus. It was the first time we performed except for at school.

This is me and my friend Lauren waiting before.

I was a little nervous.

Fishy Fish

I think fish rock!! Today I put fish wall stickers up on my bedroom walls. The white fish is one of the handles on my dresser. I have six different fish that go on my dresser.

I love my new room. This is my favorite sticker.

I think sea anenones, coral and star fish are cool.

Dolphins are my favorite kind of sea creatures. I have four dolphins jumping over my windows in my room.

My mom said that my room looked like an aquarium. I said it didn't. I thought it looked more like the ocean.

Skye Bike!!

I love the Sky Bike at the Franklin Institute.

The sky bike is almost touching the ceiling and it has a weight at the bottom to balance you! There's also a net below you and a seatbelt.

To get across on the Sky Bike, you have to ride on a metal rope. You can't steer it. All you can do is pedal and the pedals are hard to push when you are going backwards. When you go forward, you can go as fast as you want.

I wasn't tall enough over the summer but I am now.

Halloween

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell say, "Happy Halloween!"

I wanted to be Tinkerbell because she's quiet and I'm shy. My mommy and me sewed it by measuring the cloth. It was so soft I thought it could be a blanket. But the glittery part was itchy.

My mom went to Red White and Blue (one of the best thrift stores in our area) and got me a green shirt and a pair of pants. When I got home from school I put my costume on and my mom cut it to be like leaves. Then we made my hat. I had a wonderful Halloween.

Dorothy Parker stopped by on her way to NYC and went trick-or-treating with us for a little while.

After we went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, we had lots of candy. Some friends came over and we traded candy with them. Our neighbor had a kind of haunted house in the backyard. They scared us. I lost the feather in my hat. We looked for it the next day and found it in the street.

Then we all dressed up again and went to another party. Papa was a pirate, Mama wore her farm clothes and we put our costumes on again.

This is my cousin, Baby Dylan (and my Uncle Joel.)

My mom and Aunt Sarah went to go see him. Heather and I wanted to go too. We had to go to school.

I think he looks cute.

On the road again

Soccer started again. This is my travel team, the Hurricanes.

Our team got new uniforms with our name on it.

Sometimes, at my soccer games, my mom lets Hanna takes pictures with her camera. I can't tell what's happening -- it's too fuzzy!

Millions of peaches, peaches for me

When we went to the farmer's market, my mom saw peaches. I told her to buy a huge basket of them. She wanted to buy a medium basket but I told her to get the biggest basket. She did and then we had to help her freeze them all.

Hanna was peeling the skins off.

I was slicing the peaches.

Now they go in the freezer and in the winter we eat frozen peaches. It's better than ice cream!

There's a song about peaches that we sing. We made up another one about donuts.

Old Barney

We climbed to the top of this lighthouse called Barnegat Lighthouse. It has 217 steps and was very windy at the top.
